The Tamar Estuary and Esk Rivers (TEER) Program is a regional partnership program between the agencies responsible for management of the Tamar Estuary and Esk Rivers systems. The program aims to provide a coordinated approach to activities that will protect, maintain and enhance the waterways within the region, from catchment to coast.
The program’s vision is for the Tamar Estuary and Esk Rivers to be healthy, productive, valued and enjoyed.
NRM North Education has continued to support schools in the northern region to take action on the ground by adopting environmental projects that increase understanding of environmental and sustainability issues and improve the health of the local environment. NRM North sees the education program as fundamental in developing a population that is knowledgeable and committed to creating a sustainable future.
NRM North has been supporting landholder participation in Property Management Planning (PMP) since 2006. In late 2011, 42 landholders from around the region expressed interest in PMP in response to an advertised opportunity. Agricultural consultants, RM Consulting Group, Macquarie Franklin and AK Consultants were contracted to assist landholders to undertake the planning process.
